Power Duo Products for Irritated Skin

We’ve had some wild weather this last month. 100 degree temperature swings, intense sun, wind, snow, and rain. A lot of us are really feeling it taking a toll on our skin. I’ve been seeing a lot of redness and sensitivity in the treatment room and wanted to share what I’ve been reaching for over and over again.

My current power duo is LILFOX Succulent Pudding, topped with ANFISA An Balm. This combo gives soothing nourishment and healing protection while immediately reducing redness and irritation. These non-toxic, plant-based products can also be used after receiving invasive facial treatments to support the healing process.

LILFOX’s Succulent Pudding is a juicy cream infused with organic guava, strawberry, passionfruit, and babbasu oils. Mimicking properties discovered in sea-anemone venom, Succulent Pudding features groundbreaking biotechnology to inhibit the TRVP1 pain receptor in cells associated with reactive skin. This bio-tech instantly addresses redness and irritation. Skin immediately drinks up this formula calming the skin while addressing dehydration and loss of firmness. Think green juice for your skin!

AFNISA An Balm is the desert island product of Handsome Folk and Spruce & Honey. This balm to oil formula is packed full of antioxidant rich, organic ingredients that deeply hydrates the skin while providing anti-inflammatory benefits. Safe for cuts and even burns, the occlusive nature of An Balm prevents moisture from evaporating and support skin-barrier repair. Pro-tip: Keep your An Balm in the fridge and enjoy the cooling sensation paired with the aroma of cucumber seed oil.

When your skin is feeling sensitized and irritated, I say put away your active and exfoliating products. Give your skin a chance to recover, Succulent Pudding and An Balm are great day and/or night moisturizers. After washing with a gentle cleanser, dampen skin with your favorite hydrosol or moisturizing toner (stay away from ones that lower your skin’s pH). Then, with a half-pea size amount (roughly a 1/4 teaspoon), massage Succulent Pudding into your skin starting at your face and distributing the remainder of the emulsion to your neck and decollete. Using the same amount of An Balm distribute the product and finish by giving yourself a 60-second facial massage working from the chest to your forehead. Enjoy the nourishment and glow!

Both products are safe for all skin types including sensitive and acneic. You can find them in-person at Handsome Folk and Spruce & Honey or online at www.spruceandhoney.com.
